It was now noon time, which in school time meant an hour of recess. “Hey Em,” he said, “So we are going to my place.”
“Yeah?” I looked at him, taking long deep breaths. Sex I snorted silently, amused by what happened. “Took you long enough,” Alex asked, looking at me. “Okay, hurry, will you?” he said impatiently. He works at the motel.”
“Uh-huh,” I said sitting down on the bed, “Tell me more about this Bill, the boyfriend.”
We spent the next few hours talking about Bill and other nonsensical stuff till I got sleepy enough. “I’m sorry, what do you mean?” I asked him confused, “What dare?”
“Where you pretend to talk to me and then make fun of me with the rest of your friends,” Nathan said accusingly, “It’s not the first time something like this is happening, you know.”
I stopped in my tracks as I made sense of his accusations. “You aren’t far off either, Mother Teresa,” mum glared at me. I genuinely wanted to talk to you.”
He stopped and looked at me for a full minute before saying anything. I must have dozed off for a bit as I woke up in the tub with Liam banging on the door, telling me to get out already.
